 Whispers of Love : Romance

A Novel by Nasrin Kousar Jahan

Dedication
To every heart that has found love amidst the ordinary, and to the enduring spirit of Jamshedpur. And to my beloved son, Naman, whose light, though brief, continues to guide my path.
Preface
Jamshedpur. For many, it’s the Steel City, a crucible of industry and endeavour. But for those of us who have called it home, it’s a tapestry woven with threads of vibrant community, verdant parks, bustling markets, and the quiet, steady pulse of life lived with integrity. It’s a city where dreams are forged, not just in its factories, but in the hearts of its people.
This story is a glimpse into that Jamshedpur, a city that cradles ambition and affection with equal warmth. It’s about two young souls, Amir and Sara, navigating the complexities of modern work-life, the blossoming of love, the sting of jealousy, and the timeless values of faith and family. Their journey, like the meandering Subarnarekha River that graces our city, encounters unexpected turns, moments of turbulence, and ultimately, the peaceful confluence of shared destiny.
In a world increasingly dominated by algorithms and virtual connections, the authenticity of human emotion, the joy of a shared glance across a crowded room, or the comfort of a familiar haunt, remain paramount. Amir and Sara’s story is a testament to this – a reminder that even in the logical world of IT, the heart has its own code, its own undeniable logic.
I hope their story resonates with you, evoking the sights, sounds, and emotions of a love that, like Jamshedpur itself, is both resilient and deeply beautiful.

Words of the Author: Nasrin Kousar Jahan
Assalamu Alaikum and Namaste to my dear readers,
Writing has always been my sanctuary, a space where I can explore the myriad hues of human experience. Born and raised in the unique embrace of Jamshedpur, a city that seamlessly blends industrial might with natural charm, my formative years were steeped in its distinct culture. Later, life and marriage brought me to the lovely city of Ranchi, where I completed my post-graduation from Ranchi University and built a new home with my in-laws, but Jamshedpur remains the ink in my veins.
My academic pursuits have led me down the fascinating corridors of history, and I’ve attempted to capture some of those narratives in my books. Novels allow for a different kind of exploration – the intricate dance of relationships, the triumphs and tribulations of ordinary people leading extraordinary emotional lives. You can find more of my musings, on topics ranging from history to slices of life, on my blog, Nasreenuk.blogspot.com.
This particular story, "Jamshedpur's Hidden Gem," is close to my heart. It’s set in a world I know – the ambition of young professionals, the backdrop of my beloved Jamshedpur, and the enduring power of faith and family that are so integral to our Muslim identity and indeed, to the Indian ethos.
Life, much like the stories we write, is full of unexpected twists. There are moments of profound joy and moments of deep sorrow. I carry with me the precious memory of my departed son, Naman. He was a bright spark, and even in his innocent, childish observations, there was sometimes a startling prescience. I recall him once, very young, looking at the Adobe software logo on my computer and making a curious, almost foreboding remark about its ‘changing colours’ long before any rebranding was announced. It was a fleeting comment, perhaps meaningless to an outsider, but for a mother’s heart, it remains a poignant reminder of a wisdom lost too soon, a reminder that life’s script is often written in ways we cannot fathom. His memory fuels my desire to capture the ephemeral beauty of life and relationships.
This novel is a work of fiction, but the emotions it explores are very real. It is my sincere hope that Amir and Sara’s journey will touch your heart and perhaps remind you of the hidden gems in your own lives.
With heartfelt gratitude,Nasrin Kousar Jahan
