Love in Code
Love in Code
A Novel by Nasrin Kousar Jahan
A New Beginning
Amir adjusted his tie and took a deep breath before stepping into the massive glass building of TechNova Solutions, one of the top MNCs in Bangalore. It was his first day as a senior software engineer, and though he had years of experience, a new workplace always brought a mix of excitement and anxiety.
"New place, new people… let’s see how it goes," he thought as he entered the office.
The open floor plan buzzed with engineers engrossed in their work. His eyes scanned the space until a confident voice interrupted his thoughts.
"You must be Amir."
Turning, he saw a woman dressed in a navy-blue formal suit, her laptop in one hand and a coffee in the other. She had sharp eyes and a smirk playing on her lips.
"I’m Sameera, lead developer. Welcome to the team," she said, extending her hand.
"Thanks. Looking forward to working with you," Amir replied, shaking her hand.
Little did he know, this casual greeting would lead to something much deeper—love, fights, heartbreak, and a connection that would redefine their lives.
Love in the Air
Over the next few weeks, Amir and Sameera worked closely on a new AI-based project. Their minds clicked on a different level—where one’s logic ended, the other’s creativity took over. Their late-night debugging sessions, coffee breaks, and brainstorming meetings became the highlights of Amir’s day.
"You know, for a guy who just joined, you argue like you own the place," Sameera teased one evening as they debated over a piece of code.
"I believe in my logic. And… I like winning," Amir smirked.
"We’ll see about that," she replied with a raised eyebrow.
While their work partnership was electric, their personal interactions were even more intriguing. Their colleagues began to notice the unspoken chemistry between them.
One evening, after an exhausting day, Sameera sighed, stretching her arms.
"Want to grab dinner?" Amir asked casually.
"Hmm… sure. But you’re paying," she said, grinning.
That dinner turned into many more. Soon, work discussions were replaced with personal stories, shared laughs, and stolen glances.
Neither of them had said it out loud, but the air around them was thick with something special.
First Date and Confession
A few months later, TechNova organized an office retreat in Coorg. Amidst bonfires and long hikes, Amir and Sameera found themselves away from the work chaos.
One evening, as the sun set behind the hills, Amir and Sameera sat on a wooden bench, sipping coffee.
*"Sameera, I—" Amir started hesitantly.
"Hmm?" She turned to him, her face glowing under the twilight sky.
"I like you," he blurted out.
Sameera chuckled, looking at her cup.
"Took you long enough," she said, smirking.
"You knew?" Amir raised an eyebrow.
"Of course! But I was waiting for you to admit it," she teased.
They both laughed, and in that moment, something changed. Amir reached out and held her hand.
"So… does this mean—"
"Yes, idiot," she interrupted, leaning her head on his shoulder.
Office Rumors Begin
The next few months were nothing short of magical. They explored the city, tried exotic restaurants, went on long drives, and watched Netflix marathons wrapped in cozy blankets.
But with love came challenges.
Their relationship wasn’t exactly a secret, and soon, whispers began circulating in the office.
"They say Sameera got Amir promoted faster because they’re dating," a junior engineer whispered.
"I heard Amir is still in touch with his ex. Maybe Sameera doesn’t know?" another colleague said, smirking.
The rumors reached Sameera’s ears, and though she trusted Amir, a small part of her couldn’t ignore the nagging doubt.
That evening, she confronted him.
"Amir, did you ever—did you ever talk to your ex after we got together?" she asked hesitantly.
"What? No! Where is this coming from?" Amir looked genuinely surprised.
"People are talking…" Sameera muttered.
"So, you believe office gossip over me?" Amir's voice turned cold.
That night, for the first time, they slept without texting goodnight.
Small Fights and Bigger Egos
Days passed, and tension lingered between them. The usual laughter and teasing were replaced with cold silences.
One evening, Amir waited for Sameera at their favorite café. She never showed up.
Instead, he found her at another table, chatting and laughing with Rohan—a colleague who had always had a crush on her.
Amir’s heart clenched.
"So now you’re hanging out with Rohan?" he asked bitterly.
"Oh, so I need permission now?" Sameera shot back.
"That’s not what I meant—"
"Whatever, Amir. You need to get over your jealousy."
Frustrated, Amir stormed out. It was their first real fight.
A Setup to Break Them Apart
Unknown to them, Rohan was deliberately fueling the misunderstandings between them.
One day, Sameera received a suspicious message from Amir’s phone—a flirty text to another woman. Her face paled.
When she confronted Amir, he was shocked.
"Sameera, I swear I never sent that!" he insisted.
"Then how did it come from your number?" she demanded.
What they didn’t know was that Rohan had cloned Amir’s number and sent the message.
For the first time, Amir and Sameera considered breaking up.
Sofia, the Peacemaker
Just when things seemed beyond repair, their mutual friend, Sofia, stepped in.
Sofia, an ethical hacker, investigated the messages and exposed Rohan’s deception.
"I told you two, don’t let office gossip ruin something real," Sofia sighed.
Realizing their mistake, Sameera and Amir finally had an honest conversation.
Under the pouring rain, Amir pulled her close.
"Never doubt me again," he whispered.
"Never," she promised, leaning in for a kiss.
The Grand Proposal
Months later, Amir planned a grand proposal.
Using AI, he recreated their love story through digital art—from their first meeting to their fights and reconciliation.
As the video ended, Amir got down on one knee.
"Sameera, will you marry me?"
Tears in her eyes, she whispered, "Yes."
Happily Ever After?
Sameera and Amir didn’t just remain a couple—they became partners in life and in tech.
When an opportunity to work in Silicon Valley came, they took it together—ready to explore new challenges, new love, and new adventures.
Because love, like coding, was all about debugging the misunderstandings and creating something beautiful.
