Mere Mehboob Ka Aaya Hai Mohabbat Naam

Mere Mehboob Ka Aaya Hai Mohabbat Naam

Mere mehboob ka aaya hai mohabbat naam,

Dil-o-jaan se shukriya, lakh duaaon ka salaam.

Khat ke har lafz mein basi hai wafaa ki khushbu,

Jaise phoolon ki mehak, jaise saavan ki shaam.

Usne poocha hai ke kaisi kati raaten meri,

Kaise keh doon ke ujale bhi lage hain gumnaam.

Uske alfaaz mein chhalki hai chahat kitni,

Jaise dariya mein utar aaye samandar ka payaam.

Ab to aane ki bhi koi khabar de dena,

Intezaaron ki ghata ho na bane dard ka jaam.

Ishq ki raah mein ujale bhi jalaate hain bahut,

Phir bhi rakhta hoon saja ke main ye khat har shaam.

Jaise phoolon ki mehak, jaise saavan ki shaam."

    • The letter is filled with the fragrance of loyalty and devotion. The poet compares its essence to the scent of flowers and the beauty of a monsoon evening, symbolizing romance, nostalgia, and emotional depth.
  3. "Usne poocha hai ke kaisi kati raaten meri,
Kaise keh doon ke ujale bhi lage hain gumnaam."

    • The beloved asks how the poet has been spending her nights. She struggles to express that even in brightness (ujale), she feels a sense of emptiness, signifying how love and separation make even the happiest moments feel lonely.

Jaise dariya mein utar aaye samandar ka payaam."

    • The words of the beloved are overflowing with love and affection. The poet compares them to the depth of an ocean, where the waves bring a message from the vast and limitless sea, signifying profound emotions and longing.
  5. "Ab to aane ki bhi koi khabar de dena,
Intezaaron ki ghata ho na bane dard ka jaam."

    • The poet pleads for news of her beloved's arrival, fearing that the cloud of waiting (intezaaron ki ghata) may turn into a cup of sorrow (dard ka jaam). She expresses the pain of prolonged separation and the yearning for reunion.
  6. "Ishq ki raah mein ujale bhi jalaate hain bahut,
Phir bhi rakhta hoon saja ke main ye khat har shaam."

    • The journey of love is full of struggles and emotional burns (ujale bhi jalaate hain), yet the poet cherishes and treasures the letter every evening, signifying her undying love and hope despite the challenges.
