Magnitude and Epicenter: The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude of 7.1, while Chinese authorities recorded it as 6.8. The quake's epicenter was in Tingri County, Tibet, at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers. 

Timing: The earthquake occurred at 9:05 AM local time.

Impact on Tibet:

Casualties: At least nine fatalities have been reported, with many individuals trapped under collapsed structures. 

Structural Damage: Significant damage has been observed in villages throughout Tingri County, including collapsed houses and a damaged hotel in Lhatse County. 

Effects in Nepal:

Tremors Felt: The quake was strongly felt in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, prompting residents to evacuate buildings. 

Structural Impact: A police station in Phulping Katti sustained minor damage. 

Effects in India:

Regions Affected: Tremors were experienced in several parts of India, including Bihar, Assam, and West Bengal. 

Public Reaction: Residents in the affected areas reported feeling the tremors, leading to precautionary evacuations.
