Saif Ali Khan, born on August 16, 1970, in New Delhi, India, hails from a distinguished lineage. He is the son of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, a former captain of the Indian national cricket team, and renowned actress Sharmila Tagore. Khan's paternal lineage includes the Nawabs of Pataudi, and his maternal lineage is associated with the prominent Tagore family.

Khan made his acting debut in 1993 with the film "Parampara." He gained recognition with hits like "Yeh Dillagi" (1994) and "Main Khiladi Tu Anari" (1994).
